Teacher
Deena Bunbury
Former founder and director of Bromley Vocal Tuition, and in turn Bromley Vocal School, Deena decided to sell up and start afresh, with a smaller school, in order to be able to have more time to focus solely on her own students.
Deena has been teaching on and off (in between having two daughters) for the last 20 years.
Deena originally qualified as a Speech Level Singing teacher back in 2008, but decided to focus more on the underpinnings of Speech Level Singing, in other words, the Bel Canto technique. This resulted in her having regular lessons with a renowned teacher in London, who has not only aided to transform her voice, but Teacher Train her. She has found that this has had a profound effect on her teaching success.
The Bel Canto method originated in the historic 'Italian School' and proliferated across Europe during the late 19th Century and early 20th Century. It encourages a natural free vocal production, that is uninhibited by tension, thus creating a beautiful resonant seamless and extended singing voice.
Deena likes to keep up to date with all the latest research and teaching developments, through her association with the British Voice Association and Association of Teachers of Singing.
She has also had extensive backing, lead and recording experience, as well dance, Movement Therapy and Alexander Technique instruction, that help to inform her teaching.
